Subcommittee Report on Pokhara International Airport Irregularities Submitted to Public Accounts Committee

Kathmandu: The subcommittee formed to investigate irregularities at Pokhara International Airport has submitted its report to the Public Accounts Committee. The report was handed over today by subcommittee coordinator and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman and Member of Parliament Rajendra Prasad Lingden to Public Accounts Committee Chairman Hrishikesh Pokharel during a ceremony at the Shankar Hall of the Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.
According to committee secretary and Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, Chairman Pokharel received the report and announced that a detailed discussion on the findings will take place at the committee’s next meeting.
The Public Accounts Committee had established the subcommittee under Lingden’s leadership approximately a year ago to examine the alleged irregularities. Following on-site inspections, stakeholder interactions, document reviews, and extensive discussions, the subcommittee compiled a 38-page report containing six major findings and corresponding recommendations.
The subcommittee members include MPs Janardan Sharma, Gokul Prasad Baskota, Aman Lal Modi, Arjun Narsingh KC, Prem Bahadur Ale, Ram Krishna Yadav, Tara Lama, Dev Prasad Timilsena, Deepak Giri, and Rukmani Rana.
The subcommittee stated that its report addresses complaints related to irregularities and corruption observed at the airport and offers recommendations aimed at ensuring accountability and transparency in future operations.
